Unfortunately I caught the game on the basis of your post. You know, I
would say thanks jonbhoy. If I'd meant it. But that must have been the
most pointless game of football in football history. Ending up
watching the battle of naesby in the long spells of inaction....
I kept thinking, any team that can't put at least 3 past this Scotland side
at home has no business anywhere near a World Cup and had to fucking guffaw
when the guy said that the Japanese coach was targetting a top four finish.
On the basis of that game, they'll be lucky to finish in the top four of the
first group stage.
Post by liam67My mood was not lightened by the commentary team. Patterson is ok but
he is completely biased in favour of scotland, it's beyond
credibility. If it's a foul for Japan, you might as well just come out
and say so, instead of "well that one wasn;t so clear"....and the
other commentator...BEJESUS!!!...who the hell is that
guy?!?!?!....he's f*ckin terrible as a commentator.....he's got a
terrible voice, talks endless pish and seems to know little about
football....
imho there are only 3 commentators of any class now. Archie, Jock Brown and
David Begg on Radio Scotland - the best of the lot.
Post by liam67Do have to say the Japanese fans were superb, non stop singing all the way
through the game from start to finish.Only down side is they only seem to
know two songs (One was the entertainer and the other im not sure, might be
ode to joy) so did get a bit annoying, but cant fault their enthusiasm.
The one bright light during the match was the singing of the
Japanese....pretty impressive....until I realised they were endlessly
singing the one song, like you say....that started to grate as
well....i mean "change the f*ckin record please!!!!"
it got to the stage where I turned the commentary off - if there's one way
to have a game ruined it's to have to listen to the same stupid bloody tune
for ten minutes at a time. The other way is of course for Scotland to turn
up.
But if you think that was bad - wait until you watch games from SouthAfrica.
The crowds there are *seriously* annoying.
