On the one hand, I've always rated him whenever I've seen him play for
France and he is a quality act, no doubt.
On the other hand, the number of French haddies who have crashed and burned
in Govan fills me with no optimism that this one will be any different. Have
we ever had an onion seller that was worth a damn?

*Most* French players who've picked up a wage at Ibrox have appeared lazy
and uninspired.

Guivarc'h had a natural scoring ability, but always looked as though he was
going through the motions.
Cousin, Fanfan, Clement, Bernard all looked like they were having a
kick-around in friendlies any time they played; Jerome Bonnissel and Fabrice
Fernandes weren't even deemed good enough *upon arrival* to even get a run
in the team.

From memory the only players worth their wages have been J-Rod, Boumsong,
Darcheville and Boli - the latter two purely on their efforts rather than
their skills.

If he does a job then I'll be quite surprised, but I'm hardly expecting him
to set the heather alight.

ahh - Forgot about JCD. Boumsong and Boli, were OK, but that's about it and
Rodriguez never looked fully at home - although how much that was down to
playing with Svensson, who knows.

Ah, I had honestly forgotten all about Karl Svensson, I even had to google
him for a pic to remind me who the hell he was .. my brain must have blocked
him from memory! He was pretty dire!

I believe the clinical term is 'supression'. You hadn't actually forgotten
him - your subconcious just told you that you had, as a kinda defense
mechanism.

As time passed, you would have started to get flashbacks of lunging,
mistimed tackles, fowards unmarked and goals raining in from set pieces.
Slowly, a broadfootesque face would have taken root in your head and the
tormenting dreams would have begun. You may in the end, have resorted to
mass murder or self-harm.

It's better this way - remember him now and get the pain over with. You'll
thank me. Maybe not now, but in time.

*Face contorts in a twisted silent scream*
"Agghhhh! Ya big curly-heided turnip ye!"
"Pick WAN man and mark him!!"
"Why are you just standing there like a big balisha beacon?!!"
*Regains composure*

Yes, I remember the anguish fully...

Thanks for that! I have exorcised the Demon fae Sweden.

To think he was touted around Europe as some sort of wonderkid too! Just our
luck to get landed wi' him!
Something comes to mind about Arsene Wenger in particular rating him quite
highly?
The bastard.
