This team are the champions of a country which is ranked 4 places above us
in the uefa rankings. Just because you -and I- had never heard of them
disnae make them a pub team - just makes us ignorant.

I can understand teh swap of Miller for Novo although fleck for Thomson
leaves me baffled.

They''ve been on a mission, that team has. Promoted to division 2 in '03,
promoted to division 1 on '06, league champs in '09. It's hard not to root
for them and it makes one appreciate the Champions League bringing stories
like them into the spotlight.

The goal rangers scored was lucky but they should have been 1 up before that
after Miller basically tapped it to the goalie from 6 yards out. That was a
great chance inexplicably blown. I'll never understand why players who more
often than not blast the ball 50ft over the net, end up not even making the
goalie sweat to make a save from 6yds out!!

As for the Romanian goal it was a cracker, I don't think Macgregor had any
chance. The problem was the Rangers defence had been allowing their strikers
room for shots the whole game. Sooner or later it was going to bite them in
the ass and it did. I think Unirea were by far the superior team both
games. Rangers just don't have enough flair, skill or confidence to make it
against these Euro teams, even from the lesser powers in Europe. Heaven
forbid if they were drawn against Milan or Real they would be obliterated.

Well so much for the Euro money!!
